One of my dad's hobbies was ballroom dancing. He learned to dance in Finnegans, Queens Road and took myself and Patrick to learn with him. We danced the waltz, rumba, cha cha cha and my dad's favourite dance the Tango. We had great times learning together. He would get ready on a Sunday evening in his smart clothes and shiny shoes and head down to Bellvue Dancehall. I would be with my friend in the disco next door and would pop my head in to see my dad gliding across the dance floor like a professional. How he loved to dance. He had lots of friends there especially the females. Well he was a handsome chap.
